For in hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen
is not hope. For who hopes for what is seen? But if we hope for what we do not
see, we wait for it with patience. Romans
8.24-25
St Matthew's church is located in the
village of Borstal
on the east bank of the river Medway, lying along the old pilgrim route from Rochester to Canterbury.
Although Borstal is part of the city of Rochester,
it still retains many village characteristics.
St Matthew's is part of the Church of
England and comes under the jurisdiction of the Diocese of Rochester.
Everybody is welcome at our services. We
have facilities for children, wheelchair access and facilities for the
disabled, large print service booklets, hymn books and bibles for the visually
impaired and an induction loop for hearing aid users.
We are a very friendly bunch of people and
we would love to meet you.
